In addition to houseboats, guests are offered shikara and motorboats to experience the fabulous and captivating Alleppey backwaters & adjacent areas. These are usually open to all sides which in turn allows a close view of the mesmerizing backwaters of Alappuzha. In comparison to traditional houseboats, these are much smaller and budget-friendly and can accommodate up to 150 people at a time. Furthermore, the size favors the access to small canals, streams, and the rest of the backwaters that a normal houseboat cant access. This enables an opportunity to watch the scenic greenery, backwater birds, lagoons, and paddy fields and even make small stops to try local cuisines!
